Well, well, well. It's about time that someone tries to keep up with Apple. The Apple iPad may soon have some competition. After all, a little competition never hurt anyone. Let's call the competitor the "BlackPad." Sounds pretty intense, right? It sounds like the battle of the year. BlackPad vs. iPad.
BlackBerry is rumored to be releasing their version of the tablet in November. Bloomberg claims that the BlackPad will arrive toward the end of the year with an iPad sized screen and the ability to connect with the Internet through WiFi or a Bluetooth connected BlackBerry. They also hinted that the BlackPad will be priced "in line" with the iPad. The rumors have held a steady buzz, which makes it seem more and more of a reality.
Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry, has even been rumored to have acquired the rights to blackpad.com. And although it is said to be unveiled in November, there is no word yet about when they will be available for purchase.
Along with those rumors, RIM is also supposed to announce a new model, the slider 9800 handset that is said to be an "iPhone killer." This device will have a touch screen keyboard, much like the iPhone's, but it would also have the full QWERTY keyboard too. It should also bring forth the BlackBerry 6 OS.
Is BlackBerry actually going to give Apple a run for its money? It sure would be entertaining to find out.
