Did you ever think that your computer was at risk when you were searching up information on your favorite celebrities? Well, it is. Cyber criminals that want to infect your computer with viruses keep up with Hollywood too, and post virus software behind the mask of these Hollywood stars. As of August 2009, McAfee, an anti-virus software, put out their third annual list of the most dangerous celebrities to search for on the web. Want to guess who came out with the title of most dangerous?
Jessica Biel took home the win. She is the most dangerous search on the web. When fans are searching for “Jessica Biel screensavers,” “Jessica Biel wallpaper,” “Jessica Biel photos,” McAfee reported that there is a one-in-five chance of navigating to a harmful site when searching for her. Nearly half of the sites for screensavers were identified as containing harmful software that could damage your system. Jessica Biel took over the top spot by knocking Brad Pitt out of the top five. Rounding out the top five were Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Brady, and Jessica Simpson.
